DevelopmentArc is a boutique consulting and development firm that specializes in Web Application and User Interaction front-end development. Founded by Aaron Pedersen and James Polanco, DevelopmentArc has over 22 years combined industry experience from just our two founders alone.
Aaron Pedersen
Founding Partner / Web Application Architect
Aaron Pedersen is the co-founder of DevelopmentArc along with James Polanco. He brings a decade of web application experience working with many startup and Fortune 500 companies. Aaron currently focuses on user interface technologies such as the Adobe® Flash® Platform (Adobe® Flex®, AIRTM) and Ajax. He believes that up-front planning and team cooperation is key to the success of any web application for today’s web environment.
Before DevelopmentArc, Aaron was an Interactive Architect at DHAP Digital where he was engaged early in the project lifecycle, setting technology initiatives based on the business problems at hand. After requirements were set, Aaron focused on helping guide designers by understanding the features and limitations of the client-side technology used on a given project. Projects included Scion.com, Lexus.com, and Toyota’s “Build Your Toyota”.
Recently Aaron (with James Polanco) spoke at Adobe® Max 2008 in San Francisco and Milan, Italy about Designer and Developer “Flex Best Practices” using Adobe’s upcoming Flash® Platform which includes Adobe® Flex® 4.0 and Adobe® Flash® Catalyst. The presentation can currently be viewed on Adobe.tv.
James Polanco
Founding Partner / Web Application Architect
James Polanco is a Web Application Architect specializing in application development using the Adobe® Flash® Platform (Flash®, Flex® and AIRTM). James has provided system architecture and code development on projects such as Scion.com, Toyota.com, Adobe® kuler Desktop and other high profile Flex and Flash RIAs.
Prior to starting DevelopmentArc, James was an Interactive Architect at DHAP Digital, Inc. where he led the development teams on Scion.com 2007 redesign and Build Your Toyota on Toyota.com and was a lead developer for sections of Lexus.com, ILM's "The Show" and other large projects.
James was also a Senior QE Team Lead on the Adobe® Flex® BuilderTM team focusing on ActionScript® 3.0 development harnesses and automated testing systems. James has spoken at multiple Adobe MAX conferences on topics such as ActionScript® 2.0 Design Patterns, demonstrating the pre-release of Adobe® Flex® BuilderTM 2, and Best Practices in Designing and Developing Flex applications. He has written multiple articles for the Adobe® Developer Centers and is an avid blogger on Web Application technologies for his personal Vivisecting Media website.
